ANAHEIM, Calif.-Jon Garland surrendered only six hits in amassing his 100th career victory, Jeff Mathis had three RBI, and Juan Rivera added a home run as the Los Angeles Angels made quick work of the Toronto Blue Jays with a 6-1 win Sunday at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Despite the fact that Garland will not join pitching teammates, Joe Saunders, Ervin Santana, and Francisco Rodriguez, he still was able to lower his ERA to 3.76, while giving up only three hits in the process. In other MLB action Sunday, Cincinnati edged Washington, 6-5, Texas outgunned Baltimore, 11-10, the New York Mets doubled up Philadelphia, 4-2 in 12 innings, Tampa Bay smoked Kansas City, 9-2, the Chicago White Sox tripped up Oakland,, 4-3, Milwaukee torched Pittsburgh, 11-6, Minnesota handled Cleveland, 4-3, Florida surged past Colorado, 10-5, the Chicago Cubs blasted St. Louis, 7-1, Atlanta outlasted Houston, 7-6 in 17 innings, the Los Angeles Dodgers silenced San Francisco, 5-3, Detroit overpowered Seattle, 2-1 in 15 innings, Arizona snuck past San Diego, 3-2, and the New York Yankees defeated Boston, 5-4 in 10 innings.
