Diamondbacks Surge Past Brewers with 6-run ninth

PHOENIX-Conor Jackson hit the game-winning two run single as the Arizona Diamondbacks overcame a 5-run ninth inning deficit to oust the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-5 Thursday at Chase Field. The win brought Arizona back to .500 as they are 43-43, and of greater importance, they retained a game and a half lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West. The loss for Milwaukee was only their latest pratfall on this road trip, as they fell to 5-5 on the 10-game jaunt. Salomon Torres, who closed for the Brewers, took the loss as the blown save was his third in 18 chances. In other MLB action Thursday, the Los Angeles Dodgers gashed Houston, 5-2, Philadelphia smacked Atlanta, 4-1, Kansas City overpowered Baltimore, 10-7, Boston blanked the New York Yankees, 7-0, San Francisco bludgeoned the Chicago Cubs, 8-3, Cincinnati stymied Washington, 5-3, Colorado bested Florida, 6-5 in 11 innings, Oakland snuck past the Chicago White Sox, 3-2, the New York Mets decimated St. Louis, 11-1, and Detroit doubled up Seattle, 8-4.
