SAN DIEGO-Adrian Beltre had two hits and three RBI and Carlos Silva earned his first victory in his last 13 starts as the Seattle Mariners got past the San Diego Padres, 4-2 Saturday at Petco Park in interleague play. Although the Mariners own the major’s worst record at 30-50, they have won four of their last five games. The Padres dropped to 32-50 with the loss. In National League action Saturday, Arizona waxed Florida, 6-2, and in other interleague play, Toronto smoked Atlanta, 9-5, the Chicago White Sox edged the Chicago Cubs, 6-5, the New York Yankees held off the New York Mets, 3-2, Cincinnati blanked Cleveland, 5-0, Detroit surged past Colorado, 7-6, Houston outgunned Boston, 11-10, Pittsburgh outlasted Tampa Bay, 4-3 in 13 innings, St. Louis torched Kansas City, 5-1, Milwaukee gashed Minnesota, 5-1, Baltimore shellacked Washington, 9-1, Philadelphia handled Texas, 8-6, San Francisco defeated Oakland, 1-0, and the Los Angeles Dodgers squeaked past the Los Angeles Angles, 1-0.
