Utah State¹s Jalen Moore and Shane Rector to Take Part in College Showcases

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State seniors Jalen Moore and Shane Rector will take part in the Portsmouth Invitational and the Gotham Hoops Invitational, respectively, with Moore set to tip tonight at 7 o’clock (ET).

Moore is one of 64 players in the Portsmouth Invitational, the 65th showing of the event that has drawn scouts and representatives from the NBA, as well as all across leagues in Europe. Moore is a member of the Roger Brown’s Restaurant squad alongside players from Washington State, UCLA, Arizona State, Colorado, Middle Tennessee State, Monmouth and Texas A&M CC. Moore is one of four players from the Mountain West at the event, joining New Mexico’s Tim Williams, Nevada’s Marcus Marshall and Colorado State’s Emmanuel Omogbo. Moore is also one of two from the state of Utah, joining Weber State’s Jeremy Senglin.

Fans can watch all of the games of the Portsmouth Invitational live online at portsmouthinvitational.com. A complete schedule of the games can also be found on the same website.

Moore led Utah State with 17.0 points, fifth in the MW, and 5.5 rebounds per game, 11th in the MW, during the season and is just the third Aggie in school history to lead the team in both scoring and rebounding in three separate years, joining Greg Grant (1982-84, 1985-86) and Marvin Roberts (1968-71) with that distinction.

Rector is just one of 36 players in the nation invited to the Gotham Hoops Invitational, set to play on April 22. The Gotham Hoops Invitational is just in its fourth year, but features a similar tournament-style competition.

Rector tied for the team lead in 2016-17 with 29 steals, leading the team with 1.0 steals per game. The Bronx, N.Y., native finished fourth on the team in scoring, averaging 8.0 points per game.
