PANGUITCH, Utah (AP)-As they hosted the Region 20 track and field tournament Wednesday, the Panguitch Bobcats boys and girls’ squads each came away with definitive titles and are poised to excel on the big stage at BYU next weekend.

The Panguitch girls posted 158 points to easily outclass second-place Parowan who finished with 88 points. Milford checked in at third with 83 points overall.

The Panguitch boys netted 151 overall points while second-place Bryce Valley was far behind, finishing with 66 points.

Those winning individual region titles for the girls included Panguitch’s Brittney Henrie in the 3200-meter run, Milford’s Akaydeh Livingston in the 1600-meter run and Taylia Norris of Panguitch in the 800-meter run.

Milford’s Emily Barnes swept the 100 and 300-meter hurdles titles as well as netting wins in the 200 and 400-meter dashes. Panguitch’s Shantae Miller earned the win in the 100-meter dash.

Parowan’s girls won the medley title while Panguitch’s girls swept the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 titles.

In field events, Panguitch’s Kapri Orton won the girls’ high jump title with Bryce Valley’s Madi Syrett took the long jump title.

Mikaylee Morgan of Piute won the girls’ shot put title and Jonee Holman of Panguitch took the girls’ discus crown. Brynnli Nelson of Wayne completed competition for the girls with a title in the javelin, posting a toss of 120-05 feet.

For the boys, Piute’s Spencer Jarvis won the 3200-meter run with Easton Syrett of Bryce Valley winning the 1600-meter run and Milford’s Bryson Barnes earning the crown in the 800-meter run.

Trevor Bassett of Parowan won the boys’ 110-meter hurdles title with Trenton Stowe of Panguitch earning the crown in the 300-meter hurdles.

Kai Griffin of Escalante took titles in the boys’ 100 and 200-meter dashes with Valley’s Cameron Franklin taking the crown in the 400-meter dash.

Panguitch’s boys took the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 titles with Bryce Valley’s boys earning the medley crown.

Acey Orton of Panguitch earned the high jump title with Bryce Valley’s Austyn Brinkerhoff winning the long jump crown.

Eli Esplin of Valley won the boys’ shot put championship and Panguitch’s Bryson Marshall earned the boys’ discus title.

Finally, in the boys’ javelin, Trey Barney of Panguitch won the title with a toss of 182-11 feet.

All region champions automatically earned a place in the UHSAA State Track and Field Championships May 19 and 20 at Brigham Young University.

DELTA, Utah (AP)-Wednesday, the Region 13 track and field championship was decided with two Millard County Schools earning titles.

The Millard girls won the Region 13 title by edging Delta 120-117 while the Delta boys decisively took the crown, amassing 206 points. Millard was a far cry away from the lead in second place, posting 94 points on the afternoon.

Samantha Williams of Beaver won the girls’ 3200-meter run title with Enterprise’s Allison Yardley getting titles in the 1600 and 800-meter runs.

Carsyn Button of Kanab won the girls’ 100-meter hurdles title while Enterprise’s Ellie Shurtliff won the crown in the 300-meter hurdles.

Jaslyn Gardner of Enterprise took titles in the 100 and 200-meter dashes as well as the long jump while Millard’s Danielle Whitaker won the 400-meter dash crown.

South Sevier’s Mackenzie Jones, only a freshman, won the high jump title with a leap of 5 feet and Enterprise’s Shelby Lyman won the girls’ javelin crown.

Teanette Almanza of Delta won the girls’ shot put title with Emma Thurman of Millard besting her for the discus crown.

To close things out, Delta won the girls’ 4 x 100 title with Enterprise winning the 4 x 400 championship and Beaver taking the crown in the medley.

For the boys, Kanab’s Dylan Bistline won the 3200-meter run title with Conner Cox of Millard winning the 1600-meter run crown and Delta’s Dax Brough taking the 800-meter run title.

Taylor MacDonald of Beaver won the 110-meter hurdles and high jump titles and Delta’s Jaymen Brough took the crown in the 300-meter hurdles.

Dallin Draper of Delta took the 100 and 200-meter dash crowns as well as the title in the long jump. Meanwhile, Millard’s Turner Koyle won the 400-meter dash title.

Jack Dutson of Delta won the javelin crown with Beaver’s Austin Carter getting the title in the shot put. Delta’s Jantsen Manis concluded the throwing events with the title in the discus.

Enterprise won the boys’ 4 x 100 title with Delta winning both the 4 x 400 and medley titles, cementing their dominant victory.

MOAB, Utah (AP)-Wednesday, North Sevier’s girls and Manti’s boys each came away with championships at the Region 15 track and field championships hosted by Grand High School.

The Wolves easily bested second-place Emery 128-73 and for the boys, Manti got past Emery 109-99 so the Spartans consistently fared well in vying for each crown.

For the girls, Erin Hurst of Emery won the 3200-meter run crown with Manti’s Madison Norris winning the 1600-meter run title and North Sevier’s Peyton Torgerson taking the crown in the 800-meter run as well as the long jump and high jump.

Kate Sorensen, the best hurdler in the region, won both the 100 and 300-meter hurdle crowns for Gunnison. North Sevier’s Autumn Sorenson took the 100 and 200-meter dash titles.

Jade Wimmer of Gunnison came through with a title in the 400-meter dash.

North Sevier’s Kenzie Mason won the javelin and shot put titles with Grand’s Halli Stocks winning the discus.

North Sevier’s girls also won the 4 x 100 relay with Manti getting victories in both the 4 x 400 and medley.

For the boys, Grand had two different winners in the distance races with Even Ellison winning the 3200 and Ryan Lewis winning the 1600 and 800-meter runs.

Ruben Villalpondo of Grand won the boys’ 110-meter hurdles while Emery’s Daryl Guymon won the 300-meter hurdles crown.

Braiden Ivie won the 100 and 200-meter titles for Emery with his teammate Logan Cox wining the 400-meter dash crown.

Jarod Durtschi of Manti won the boys’ long jump title with Hunter Higgs of North Sevier winning the high jump crown.

Peter Shumway of San Juan won the boys’ shot put and discus crowns with Manti’s Andrew Valentine winning the javelin title.

Grand’s boys won the medley with Manti taking the title in the 4 x 400 and San Juan getting the crown in the 4 x 100.

CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP)-With the Region 12 track and field championships getting started at Canyon View High School Wednesday, Richfield’s boys and girls are each excelling.

After five events for the girls, the Wildcats are leading Carbon 31-25. The boys have four scored events thus far and Richfield is well ahead of second-place Juab 38-18.

In events scored for the girls, SeOnna Southwick of Richfield won the 1600-meter title and Carbon’s Sarah Ohlwiler won the long jump crown.

Emily Nelson of Juab won the girls’ shot put title with a toss of 34-03.50 feet with Richfield’s girls winning the medley in a time of 4:30.76.

For the boys, Richfield’s Jonathan Monsen won the 1600-meter run while Josh Thomas of Richfield won the high jump with a leap of 6’2″ and Juab’s Aaron Clark wont the region discus title, posting a toss of 119-10.50 feet.
