ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP)-Zachary Marsden of Desert Hills won the boys’ 400-meter dash, helping the Thunder boys claim the Desert Hills Invitational title Saturday in Day 2 of competition.

Both the Desert Hills boys (136.5 points) and girls (169 points) won the respective championships with the Thunder girls getting a win in the 300-meter hurdles finals from Kaylee Carter.

Mic Webster of Cedar won the girls’ 3200-meter run with her teammate, Kaysie Klemic winning the 800-meter run so the Lady Reds ruled in the distance events.

Starlee Woodbury of Dixie won the girls’ 100-meter hurdles and finished second in the 100 behind Enterprise’s Jaslyn Gardner. The 200-meter champion for the girls was Desert Hills’ Brooklyn Lott. For the 400-meter championship for the girls, Cedar’s Jasie York took the crown.

The Desert Hills’ girls won the 4 x 100 relay with the Millard girls doing well in the event, placing fourth overall.

The Parowan girls won the medley, while, incidentally, they were the only team not to be disqualified for sundry reasons.

The Riverton girls won the 4 x 400 relay to close out events for the girls.

For the boys, Cedar’s Jensen Lambert took the crown in the 3200-meter run, following up his Friday win in the 1600-meter run. Caleb Armstrong was the winner in the boys’ 800-meter run, giving Hurricane some key points as the Tigers finished third in the standings behind Desert Hills and Cedar.

Carter Reynolds of Desert Hills was the boys’ champion in the 110-meter hurdles with his teammate Bradley Earl winning the 100-meter dash.

Seth Dabb of Canyon View won the boys’ 200-meter dash with Riverton’s boys taking the title in the 4 x 100 relay. Desert Hills got key points toward the team title by dominating in the 4 x 400 relay, besting Hurricane by 13 seconds, posting a time of 3:29.78

Dylan Clements of Cedar was the boys’ 300-meter hurdles champion with the Dixie Flyers taking the team title in the medley to close out results.

MILFORD, Utah (AP)-Austin Carter of Beaver placed first in the discus and shot put competitions to help the Beavers amass 138 points and win the boys title Saturday at the Milford Invitational.

The meet was comprised of 1-A and 2-A schools throughout southern and central Utah while for the girls, Milford took the title with 95 points on their home track.

The girls’ individual champions were Bailey Wall of Tintic in the 3200 and 1600-meter runs, helping the Miners place fourth overall in the standings.

Other winners for the girls included Milford’s Emily Barnes in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles as well as the 200-meter dash along with the 400-meter dash for good measure.

The 100-meter dash champion for the girls was Kanab’s Bethany Nording while she was also a member of the title-winning girls’ 4 x 100 relay team for Kanab.

Milford’s girls won the 4 x 400 and medley relays with Beaver’s Linley White winning the girls’ javelin and long jump titles.

Mikaylee Morgan of Piute won the girls’ shot put title while Enterprise’s Hannah Beckstrand took the girls’ discus crown with a toss of 86.00-50 feet.

For the boys, Patrick Luo of Kanab won the 110-meter hurdles title while Enterprise’s Ron Esplin won the 100-meter dash.

The boys’ 3200-meter run was won by Dylan Bistline of Kanab with Easton Syrett of Bryce Valley placing first in the 1600-meter run. Incidentally, Syrett showed some unique skills overall, also placing first in the boys’ javelin competition.

Milford’s boys won the 4 x 100 relay with Bryce Valley’s boys winning the medley and Kanab’s boys taking the 4 x 400 title so there was variety in the relays.

Gus Thompson of Milford won the boys’ 400-meter dash and his teammate, Bryson Barnes won the 300-meter hurdles title.

Austin Dean of Valley took the boys’ 800-meter run title and Dillon Smith of Beaver was the long jump champion with a leap of 20-01.75 feet to finish off overall results.
