NEW YORK (AP) — Always Dreaming’s nightmarish performance at the Preakness last weekend has prompted the owners of the Kentucky Derby winner to skip the upcoming Belmont Stakes. Always Dreaming trainer Todd Pletcher told the Daily Racing Form that the 3-year-old colt will next run in the $600,000 Jim Dandy at Saratoga on July 29 or the $1 million Haskell Invitational at Monmouth the following day. Meanwhile, it appears unlikely that Preakness winner Cloud Computing will run in the Belmont.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Danny Lee capped his 6-under 64 with a birdie to grab a share of the second-round lead in the Colonial. Lee began the round at even par before pulling into a tie with Kevin Kisner, Webb Simpson and Scott Piercy, who shot a 66 yesterday. Masters champion Sergio Garcia and fellow Spaniard Jon Rahm are at 5 under along with England’s Paul Casey and Sean O’Hair.

STERLING, Va. (AP) — Bernhard Langer was leading the Senior PGA Championship when Friday’s play was halted by darkness. Langer birdied five straight holes and was 11 under through 13 holes when the round was halted. He’s one shot ahead of Vijay Singh (VEE’-jay sing), who shot 68 amid wind measured at more than 30 mph.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A federal judge says a lawsuit accusing the NFL and team owners of conspiring to suppress wages for cheerleaders lacks evidence to support that claim. U.S. District Judge William Alsup dismissed the lawsuit by a former San Francisco 49ers cheerleader. The suit sought class action status on behalf of all NFL cheerleaders.
