OREM, Utah (AP)-Hunter Vernon posted 13 points and 6 rebounds and the North Summit Braves downed Millard 55-38 Friday in the 2-A girls state play-in tournament at Orem High School. The Braves, who improved to 21-1, used an 18-6 run in the 4th Quarter to squelch a valiant Millard effort. Sariah Swallow had 16 points on a perfect 10-10 at the foul line in the loss for the Eagles.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Soon-to-be Southern Utah Thunderbird Peyton Torgerson posted 14 points and 7 rebounds on 6-10 from the field as the North Sevier Wolves routed Rowland Hall-St. Mark’s 55-38. Hailey Higgs added 13 points and 8 rebounds on 6-7 shooting as the Wolves coasted to victory. Up next for North Sevier is a game against North Summit Thursday at 4:10 pm in the state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Katelyn Church posted 10 points and Kanab outlasted Maeser Prep 45-31 to earn a berth in the 2-A state quarterfinals with a win Friday in the 2-A play-in game at Orem High School. Gracie Sorenson had a game-high 16 points in the loss for the Lions.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Ryann Shumway netted 21 points on 8-13 shooting and made the game-winning 3-pointer in overtime in the closing seconds as the San Juan Broncos upset Wasatch Academy 58-57 Friday in the 2-A play-in game at Orem High School. Delaney Palmer added 19 points and 11 rebounds on 8-12 shooting for the Tigers. Manu Oliveira had 29 points and 14 rebounds in the loss for the Wildcats. San Juan next faces Kanab Thursday at 5:50 pm in the 2-A state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Jacoy Christensen had 16 points on 6-6 from the field as the Beaver Beavers smacked Summit Academy 57-33 Friday in the 2-A play-in game at Orem High School. Chelsey Drury paced the Bears in the loss with 14 points. Beaver next draws Layton Christian Thursday at 7:30 pm at the Sevier Valley Center in the 2-A state quarterfinals.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Jada Wyms posted 31 points and 6 rebounds as the Layton Christian Eagles downed Gunnison 59-40 in the 2-A play-in game at Orem High School Friday. Kezzley Winn had 8 points in defeat for the Bulldogs.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Megan Jensen was a perfect 10-10 from the field for 20 points and the Emery Spartans decimated Waterford 71-20 Friday in the 2-A play-in game at Orem High School. The Spartans shot 54.5 percent for the game while Kate Curtis had 7 points in defeat for the Ravens.

OREM, Utah (AP)-Halle Drake posted 9 points and Kaytlyn Miller made the go-ahead 3-pointer down the stretch as Enterprise downed South Summit 35-28 at Orem High School in the 2-A play-in game Friday. Grace Olson had 10 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Wildcats. Enterprise next faces Emery Thursday at 9:10 pm in the quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center.

RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Danielle Brinkerhoff’s 8 points led the way and the Bryce Valley Mustangs outlasted Panguitch 28-24 Friday in the 1-A state girls semifinals at the Sevier Valley Center. Brieann Birch had 8 points in the loss for the Bobcats. Bryce Valley will play Tabiona for the 1-A girls state championship Saturday at 5:00 pm at the Sevier Valley Center.

RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Shaelee Nay posted 10 points and the Tabiona Tigers downed Monticello 31-29 in the 1-A state girls semifinals at the Sevier Valley Center Friday. Atlanta Black’s 14 points led the Buckaroos in the loss.

RICHFIELD, Utah (AP)-Courtney Jackson amassed 22 points and the Wayne Badgers ended Piute’s season with a 62-49 win over the Thunderbirds Friday in the 1-A girls consolation bracket. Macey Dalton had 15 points in the loss for Piute. Wayne will play Milford for sixth place Saturday at 12:00 pm at the Sevier Valley Center.

GRANTSVILLE, Utah (AP)-Jeron Stewart netted 18 points and Stetson Southwick added 17 more as the Richfield Wildcats downed Grantsville 53-41 in the 3-A play-in game Friday. Brady Arbon’s 12 points paced the Cowboys in defeat. The Wildcats will next face Juan Diego Thursday at 2:30 pm at Utah State University in Logan in the 3-A quarterfinals.

MT. PLEASANT, Utah (AP)-Jase Wanlass’ 24 points led the way and the Stansbury Stallions upset North Sanpete 44-43 Friday in the 3-A play-in game. Shawn Taylor posted 13 points and 7 assists in defeat for the Hawks. Stansbury will face Desert Hills Friday at 9:30 am in the 3-A quarterfinals at Utah State University.
