OGDEN, Utah-Monday, Weber State star freshman tailback Josh Davis was named to the HERO Sports freshman All-American team.
Davis is one of 30 freshmen across the country to receive this distinction and one of only six Big Sky Conference players to be so honored.
Davis set a freshman rushing record at Weber State with 1,362 rushing yards, which is the sixth-most rushing yards in a season in school history.
Davis has amassed 1,779 all-purpose yards as well, the most for a freshman in school history.
Davis will also be honored with the Jerry Rice Award January 4 at the STATS FCS Award Banquet at Frisco, Texas.
The following day, Weber State’s Big Sky foe Eastern Washington, will face North Dakota State for the FCS national championship.
