Weber State’s Bethann Ord Leaves For Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y.-Friday, Binghamton University announced the hiring of former Weber State women’s basketball coach Bethann Ord as the new head coach of the Bearcats’ program.

The move is a homecoming of sorts for Ord as she grew up in Rochester, N.Y.

Weber State athletic director Jerry Bovee expressed his gratitude to Ord for a job well done, saying “We want to thank Bethann for the work she has done in building our basketball program the last seven years.”

In her time at Ogden, Ord led the Wildcats to 20-win seasons on two occasions, including a 21-11 mark in 2017-18. This past season, the Wildcats made it to the second round of the Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament.

Before becoming the head coach at Weber State, Ord had been a Division I assistant coach for more than 20 years. This included four seasons at Louisville where she played an instrumental role in the Cardinals making it to the Sweet 16 three times, including a national title game appearance in 2009.
