Weber State Men’s Basketball Visits Portland State Saturday

PORTLAND, Ore.-Saturday, Weber State seeks to shake off the ill effects of an overtime loss to Southern Utah last week by hitting the road at Portland State as Big Sky Conference play ensues.

The Wildcats currently find themselves at 9-6 and 3-1 in league play.

Weber State comes into Saturday’s game against the Vikings scoring 82.2 points per game and surrendering 74.2 points per contest.

Star junior guard Jerrick Harding is currently scoring 21.1 points per game to lead the Wildcats.

Junior guard Cody John is averaging 15.9 points per game and senior forward Brekkott Chapman posts 12.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game for the Wildcats.

In the loss to Southern Utah, Chapman netted his third consecutive double-double by posting 15 points and 11 rebounds. He currently leads the Big Sky in rebounds (131) and blocks (32).

The Vikings are 6-8 and 1-2 in Big Sky play entering Saturday’s contest.

Portland State scores 79.3 points per game and surrenders 74.9 points per contest.

Sophomore guard Holland Woods (15.2 points per game) and junior guard Michael Nuga (13.2 points per game) lead the Vikings on the season.

Portland State currently leads the nation in offensive rebounds (255) and leads the Big Sky in rebounds (611), rebounding margin (+129), steals (137) and turnover margin (+2.8).

The Wildcats lead the Vikings all-time 39-13 and Weber State has won the last six games in the series.

Weber State is also 13-11 all-time at Portland State and has won the last three road games against the Vikings.
