Weber State Men’s Basketball Hosts Montana Thursday

OGDEN, Utah-Thursday, the 15-9 (9-4 in Big Sky Conference play) Weber State Wildcats host the Montana Grizzlies (17-6, 10-2 in Big Sky play) in what is likely the Wildcats’ best chance to catch the current conference leaders.

The Wildcats will seek to snap the Grizzlies’ 7-game winning streak but Montana has won three straight in the series and five of the last eight overall against Weber State.

The Wildcats score 80.5 points per game and surrender 73.3 points per contest.

Weber State is led by star junior guard Jerrick Harding (21.6 points per game) with fellow junior guard Cody John (14.6 points per game) greatly assisting him in carrying the load. Senior forward Brekkott Chapman (12.3 points, 8.9 rebounds per game) remains the Wildcats’ leading rebounder.

The Grizzlies score 77 points per game and surrender 68.1 points per contest on the season.

Montana has balanced and productive scoring as redshirt senior Jamar Akoh (15.5 points, 8.7 rebounds per game), redshirt senior guard Ahmaad Rorie (15.2 points per game) and senior guard Michael Oguine (13.1 points, 5 rebounds per game) all help to shoulder the scoring load.

Weber State leads the all-time series 70-58 against the Grizzlies, including a 45-16 mark at Ogden.

This is the first visit to the Dee Events Center in two full seasons for the Grizzlies.
