Weber State Meets Montana In Big Sky Semifinals

BOISE, Idaho-Friday, Weber State men’s basketball (18-14, 11-9 in conference play) as the #4 seed in the Big Sky Conference tournament, meets top-seeded Montana (24-8, 16-4 in conference play) for the seventh time in the last 10 Big Sky Conference tournaments.

The Wildcats seek to avoid a season sweep at the hands of the Grizzlies and advance to Saturday’s conference title game against either Eastern Washington or Southern Utah.

In an 81-71 win over Portland State Thursday, junior guard Jerrick Harding (23 points) and his fellow junior guard Cody John (17 points, 6-8 shooting) led the Wildcats.

The Grizzlies advanced to this point by outlasting Sacramento State 79-73. Senior guard Michael Oguine (19 points, 8-13 shooting) and redshirt senior guard Ahmaad Rorie (17 points) as well as junior guard Sayeed Pridgett (16 points, 8-9 shooting) led Montana, who shot 52.5 percent for the game.

Montana is 41-29 all-time in the Big Sky Conference tournament and has advanced to the conference championship game 40 times in the past 42 seasons.

The Grizzlies, as the #1 seed, are 12-4 all-time in the conference tournament, including 7-1 in the semifinals.
