OREM, Utah-Thursday, Utah Valley University head wrestling coach Greg Williams announced his team’s 2018-19 schedule.
This features a highly competitive slate featuring 12 duels against Top-25 ranked programs.
The Wolverines will also host West Virginia, Wyoming, Northern Iowa, Fresno State, Cal State Bakersfield and Western Wyoming.
Among Utah Valley’s foes are 13 of the final top-35 teams from the 2018 NCAA Championships.
The annual UVU Green & Black Intrasquad Dual is November 1 at Lockhart Arena.
The Wolverines officially open the 2018-19 season at the Journeyman Duals November 10 at Albany, N.Y.
Their first home match is January 10 against Western Wyoming.
The Big 12 championships are March 9-10 at Tulsa, Okla. with the 2019 NCAA championships occurring March 21-23 at Pittsburgh.
This season features a program-record 24 dual meets for the Wolverines with nine of those being Big 12 competitions.
Last season was the best in program history for UVU as they went 8-6, including 4-4 in Big 12 competitions.
This netted the Wolverines their first Top 25 team ranking in program history while they sent five wrestlers to nationals in 2017-18.
Four of the five returning competitors at nationals return to the Wolverines as well.
