Utah State Men’s Basketball Visits Colorado State Tuesday

FORT COLLINS, Colo.-Tuesday, Utah State men’s basketball (24-6, 14-3 in Mountain West Conference play) will secure at least a share of the conference title with a win over the Colorado State Rams (12-17, 7-9 in conference play).

The Aggies have won 16 conference titles with its last league title having come in 2010-11 when they still played in the Western Athletic Conference.

The Aggies are one of only three teams nationally ranked in the Top 30 of the NET rankings who have played a Top 25 non-conference schedule. Utah State has won 10 games away from the Spectrum.

The Aggies’ 24 wins this season are the most since 2010-11 when they went 30-4.

New Utah State head coach Craig Smith has won more games than any coach in his first year at the helm in program history.

Utah State scores 78.4 points per game and surrenders 65.8 points per contest.

Junior guard Sam Merrill (20.5 points per game) and freshman center Neemias Queta (11.6 points, 8.9 rebounds per game) continue to lead the Aggies.

Queta has also blocked a school-record 72 shots this season for Utah State.

The Rams score 75.2 points per game and give up 75 points per contest, outscoring opponents 2180-2175 on the season.

Redshirt junior forward/center Nico Carvacho (16.2 points, 13 rebounds per game), redshirt senior guard J.D. Paige (14.8 points per game) and redshirt junior guard Anthony Masinton-Bonner (11.2 points per game) all lead Colorado State.

The Aggies lead the all-time series 59-39 while the Rams have an 18-7 all-time lead in the series at Fort Collins, Colo.
