Utah State Men’s Basketball Hosts New Mexico Wednesday

LOGAN, Utah-Wednesday, Utah State men’s basketball (20-6, 10-3 in Mountain West Conference play) hosts New Mexico (11-14, 5-8 in Mountain West Conference play) for a late 9:00 pm tip-off at the Spectrum.

The Aggies ensue in their successful season because, among other things, they lead the Mountain West in field goal percentage (47.7 percent) and field goal percentage defense (38.9 percent).

They also lead the conference in free throw percentage (74.9 percent) and 3-point field goal percentage (40.8 percent).

When the Aggies record more steals than their opponents, they are 13-0 on the season. Furthermore, when committing few turnovers than their opponents, they are 9-0 on the season.

The Aggies score 78.9 points per game and surrender 66.1 points per contest.

Junior guard Sam Merrill (20 points per game) and Portuguese national, freshman center Neemias Queta (11.3 points, 9.1 rebounds per game) continue to lead the Aggies.

The Lobos have outscored opponents 1914-1910 (76.6 points-76.4 points) on the season.

Senior guard Anthony Mathis (15.3 points per game), sophomore guard/forward Vance Jackson (12.8 points, 7 rebounds per game) and redshirt junior forward Carlton Bragg (10.5 points, 8.1 rebounds per game) lead New Mexico on the season.

The Aggies lead the Lobos 24-11 all-time, including a 13-2 record in Logan. The Aggies have won their last three home games against New Mexico.
