Utah State Football Ranks High In Several Categories Nationally

LOGAN, Utah-As Utah State football prepares to host Air Force Saturday evening in a nationally-televised ESPN2 broadcast, the Aggies are excelling at the national level in several key statistical categories.

The 2-1 Aggies are amassing a Mountain West Conference-best 54 points per game which also ranks them fourth nationally.

They are third in the MWC in completion percentage (69.1 percent success rate) and 20th nationally in that statistic.

They are also third in the MWC in 3rd down conversion at 50 percent (20 of 40), which ranks them 18th nationally.

The defense has been magnificent as well for Utah State as it has forced nine turnovers (five interceptions, four fumbles) in the first three games of the season.

This ranks them second in the MWC and ninth nationally. Their +1 turnover ratio ranks them 18th nationally as well.

The Aggies’ success also extends to special teams as they are first in the MWC at kickoff return average (34.3 yards per return) and seventh nationally.

Star kicker Dominik Eberle is a perfect 8 for 8 this season on his field goal attempts and first in the MWC in field goals made per game  at 2.67. This also ranks him second nationally.

Finally, senior defensive end Adewale Adeoye is tied for first in the MWC with two fumble recoveries (third nationally) and senior safety Aaron Wade is first in the MWC with two interceptions and 10th nationally.
