Utah Men’s Basketball Visits Stanford Thursday, California Saturday

PALO ALTO, Calif.-This week, the University of Utah men’s basketball team visits the Bay Area as they ensue in their Pac-12 season.

After besting Colorado 78-69 last Sunday at the Huntsman Center, the Utes are 9-8 (3-2 in conference play) and will face a 9-9 (2-4 in Pac-12 play) Stanford squad Thursday and will be at California Saturday.

The Utes are currently outscoring opponents 1278-1253 (75.2-73.7 points per game) on the season.

Utah’s leading scorer on the season remains senior guard Sedrick Barefield (15.8 points per game) while sophomore forward Donnie Tillman (11.2 points, 5.6 rebounds per game) stands pat as the Utes’ overall statistical leader on the season.

Utah freshman forward Timmie Allen continues to see his star rise as in Sunday’s win over the Buffaloes, he amassed his first career double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Stanford comes into Thursday’s game, outscored on the season 1024-1012 as they give up 73.6 points per game and score 72.9 points per contest.

The Cardinal’s star is sophomore forward KZ Okpala (17.9 points, 6.5 rebounds per game) with sophomore guard Daejon Davis (12.1 points per game) also excelling.

The Utes lead the Cardinal 20-13 all-time but are only 2-9 against Stanford as the road team in their history.

California is currently 5-13 and 0-6 in Pac-12 play.

The Golden Bears surrender 79.7 points per game and only score 70.8 points per contest themselves.

California is paced by sophomore forward Justice Sueing (14.1 points, 6.3 rebounds per game) and junior guard Paris Austin (13.1 points).
