Utah Men’s Basketball Adds Minnesota To 2018-19 Schedule

SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, the Utah men’s basketball team announced it has commenced a home and home series with Minnesota which will start with the 2018-19 season.

The Utes will play the Golden Gophers at Minneapolis this upcoming season, while they will return the favor in the 2019-20 season at Salt Lake City.

This season’s matchup will be only the fourth time in history the Utes and Golden Gophers have met on the hardwood.

The Utes lead the all-time series 2-1 and this represents the first matchup in the series since 2003, when Utah prevailed 66-54 at Salt Lake City.

This will be the first time the two squads have met in Minneapolis.

The Golden Gophers are coming off a 15-17 campaign in 2017-18, but were 11-6 at home.

This is the third confirmed non-conference game of the season for the Utes with the other ones being at Kentucky on December 15, while they will host Nevada December 29.

The Utes will also play in the Wooden Legacy Tournament November 22-25 at Fullerton, Calif.

Possible opponents for the Utes in this tournament include Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Hawaii, La Salle, Miami (Fla.), Northwestern and Seton Hall.
