Utah Football Seeks First Pac-12 Win At Stanford

SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday, Utah football, fresh off of a 28-24 loss at Washington State, returns to the road in the Pac-12 once again by facing consistent power Stanford.

The Cardinal, despite a 38-17 loss to Notre Dame, comes into this game as the #14 team in the land.

Despite giving up 454 yards to Washington State Saturday, the Utes’ defense is still top five nationally in many categories, including third against the run (83.8 yards per game).  The Utes only give up 2.6 yards per rush. They are also fifth in the nation in total defense (264.8 yards per game).

This is the Utes’ third consecutive game against a Pac-12 North opponent, having previously lost to Washington and Washington State, but they have historical success against the Cardinal.

While Utah is tied 4-4 all-time against Stanford, they are 2-1 against the Cardinal as a fellow Pac-12 foe.

The Utes are also 3-0 all-time at Stanford Stadium of Palo Alto, Calif., the sight of Saturday evening’s game.

This will be an 8:30 pm Mountain Time broadcast on ESPN and the Utes are 14-14 all-time on ESPN in their history.

The Utes will then commence Pac-12 South play October 12 as they host the Arizona Wildcats and will then host USC October 20.
