Utah Football Resumes Spring Activities After Break

SALT LAKE CITY-After taking off last week for spring break, Utah football reconvenes in spring camp Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Interviews will be conducted following Tuesday and Thursday’s sessions. This week’s practices are at the Eccles Football Facility on campus.

Tuesday’s session, which commences at 3:00 pm, is the first wherein tackling is allowed.

Thursday’s session is a no-tackle practice but at Saturday’s practice, tackling will be allowed again.

Additionally, as head coach Kyle Whittingham confirmed in January, assistant special-teams coach Sharrieff Shah has been promoted to special teams coordinator.

Shah is also preparing for his eighth season as cornerbacks coach.

Furthermore, during the first week of spring camp, senior offensive lineman Kyle Lanterman was placed on scholarship. Lanterman has been with the program since 2015.

Whittingham also confirmed quarterback reps will remain split between senior-to-be Tyler Huntley, sophomore-to-be Jason Shelley, junior-to-be Drew Lisk and Cameron Rising.

New enrollees to impress include Rising, defensive end Semisi Lauaki, linebacker Manny Bowen, punter Ben Lennon and offensive lineman Luke Felix-Fualalo.
