Utah Baseball Visits Stanford For The Weekend

PALO ALTO, Calif.-Friday through Sunday, Utah baseball (7-9, 1-2 in Pac-12 play) visits Stanford (12-3) as the Cardinal commences their conference season against the Utes.

The Cardinal comes in on a high note, having taken three of four from Texas, one of the traditional powers in NCAA Division I college baseball.

Utes second baseman Oliver Dunn has been one of Utah’s bright spots on the season. He is hitting .371 and tied for the Pac-12 lead with 12 doubles. Dunn also ranks eighth in conference annals in on-base percentage at .494.

Redshirt sophomore infielder Rykker Tom leads the Ues with a .375 batting average and has reached base in all of Utah’s games this season. Redshirt junior Zack Moeller (3 home runs, 21 RBI) has been the Utes’ most productive hitter overall.

Senior left-handed pitcher Joshua Tedeschi (a 3-1 record) remains Utah’s most productive hurler thus far.

Stanford’s most productive RBI producer thus far is junior left-handed pitcher Will Matthiessen (11 RBI), while senior outfielder Brandon Wulff (4 home runs, 10 RBI) is the Cardinal’s most effective overall hitter.

Junior left-handed pitcher Erik Miller, junior right-handed pitcher Zach Grech and sophomore left-handed pitcher Jacob Palisch, are all 2-0 on the season for Stanford.

The Cardinal leads the all-time series against the Utes 19-6.
