Utah Baseball Drops Series Finale 7-3 at No. 3 Stanford

PALO ALTO, Calif. – Utah baseball dropped the series finale 7-3 to No. 3 Stanford at the Sunken Diamond in Palo Alto, California on Sunday, March 24.

Rykker Tom went 2-3 with a walk and scored one run. Shea Kramer and Chris Rowan, Jr. both had RBI in the game.

Utah’s pitchers Joshua Tedeschi and Zac McCleve combined to only give up three earned runs, but Stanford kept pressure on Utah most of the game scoring seven on the afternoon.

The Utes took a 2-0 lead in the second inning off of two hits. Erick Migueles got the inning started with a walk and Tom singled to get him to second. Shea Kramer followed that up with another single to score Migueles. The Utes got their second run of the inning when Rowan drew a bases-loaded walk.

After Stanford scored three in the fourth, Utah tied up the game in the fifth. The Cardinal came right back in the bottom half with two more runs to take the lead right back.

They added two more runs in the eighth and went on to secure the win, 7-3.
