USU Football’s David Woodward Named First-Team Pro Football Focus All-American

LOGAN, Utah-Monday, Utah State linebacker David Woodward was named as a first-team All-American by Pro Football Focus.

Woodward, a sophomore out of Olympia, Wash., is one of two Mountain West players to receive this distinction, with Boise State tackle Ezra Cleveland, being the other, as he gained honorable mention plaudits.

The 6-2 235-pound Woodward started all 11 games this season for the Aggies and ranked 10th nationally in tackles with 124 stops, or 11.3 per game.

He led the Mountain West Conference in this stat and was fifth in the Mountain West in tackles for a loss (12.5), sixth in forced fumbles (2) and ninth in sacks (5.0).

Utah kicker Matt Gay earned Pro Football Focus second-team honors as he was 24-29 (.828) on field goals this season and 43-43 on PAT attempts for the Utes.
