USU Football Prepares For Friday’s Game At Michigan State

LOGAN, Utah-This Friday, Utah State football commences its season against a foe they have never met in #11 Michigan State at Spartan Stadium of East Lansing, Mich.

The Spartans represent the Big Ten Conference and the Aggies are 1-14 against the Big Ten all time. The only win for Utah State against the Big Ten came at Wisconsin in 1968.

The Aggies are 5-55 all-time against teams ranked in The Associated Press’ Top 25 but have won four of their last five games against nationally-ranked squads.

This is the second time in program history that the Aggies have played in Michigan as they routed the Western Michigan Broncos 65-22 at Kalamazoo, Mich. in 1961.

Under second-year offensive coordinator David Yost, in 2017, the Aggies netted 500 yards of offense on four occasions and averaged 30.15 points per game.

However, the defense was a sieve for the most part, giving up 38 points or more on four occasions, surrendering 26.9 points per game all-told
