USU Athletics Names New Strength and Conditioning Coach

LOGAN, Utah-Friday, Utah State director of athletics/vice president John Hartwell announced the hiring of Logan Ogden as the director of Olympic sport strength and conditioning for Aggie athletics, replacing the outgoing David Land.

Ogden stated he is “excited” to join the athletic department and he comes to Logan after spending the past three years at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. While there, he assisted the Mavericks’ athletic teams as the assistant strength and conditioning coach before being elevated as the director of strength and conditioning.

While at UNO, his primary responsibilities were training the Mavericks’ men and women’s basketball, as well as track and field and cross country programs.

Before working at UNO, he spent two years as an assistant strength and conditioning coordinator at Augustana College of Sioux Falls, S.D., assisting with football for the Vikings while taking primary responsibilities for the softball, volleyball, soccer and track and field teams at the Division II power.

Before commencing his career, he was a graduate assistant at South Dakota State from 2011-2013. During this time, he assisted the Jackrabbits’ men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball and football programs and took primary responsibility for the track and field, cross country, equestrian and cheer-leading squads.

Ogden was a two-sport athlete at NAIA-Northwestern College of Orange City, Iowa, competing in both track and field and football for the Red Raiders before commencing his post-playing career.
