SAN JOSE, Calif.-Saturday, Southern Utah University men’s basketball ensues in its season with its first road trip in 2018-19 as they visit the San Jose State Spartans of the Mountain West Conference.
Tuesday, the Thunderbirds decimated West Coast Baptist College 109-63 as Dwayne Morgan posted 20 points and Boise State transfer Cameron Oluyitan added 19 points on 8-10 from the field.
The selfless Thunderbirds also posted 28 assists on 43 field goals and forced 29 turnovers against the Eagles.
The Spartans also come into Saturday’s tilt at 1-0 as they bested Life Pacific of San Dimas, Calif. 89-72.
Junior guard Brae Ivey scored 18 points on 6-11 shooting in the win over the Warriors.
San Jose State is coached by Jean Prioleau who comes into his second season at the helm after going 4-26 in 2017-18.
This series dates back to 2016, while the Spartans and Thunderbirds have each taken a win in the series, as it is tied 1-1 overall.
