SUU Men’s Basketball Hosts Pepperdine Saturday

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Saturday, Southern Utah men’s basketball hosts Pepperdine at the America First Event Center.

The 4-3 Thunderbirds are on a 2-game losing streak, having lost last week on the road to Long Beach State and Central Michigan.

The Waves, who represent the West Coast Conference, come into Cedar City with a record of 6-4.

Pepperdine is coached by former Washington and Saint Louis head coach Lorenzo Romar, who is in the first season of his second stint at Malibu, Calif.

Romar, who first came to Pepperdine in the 1996-97 season is 397-288 (.580) as a Division I head coach.

The Thunderbirds score 83.9 points per game and surrender 72.7 points per contest.

Guard Cameron Oluyitan leads the Thunderbirds with 13.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game with forward Dwayne Morgan averaging 13 points and 4.8 boards for SUU.

The Waves come into the America First Event Center by scoring 81.5 points per game and surrendering 76.2 points per contest.

Pepperdine is led by guard Colbey Ross (19.9 points, 3.3 rebounds per game) and forward Kameron Edwards (17.7 points, 7.3 rebounds per game).
