SUU Men’s Basketball Hosts Northern Arizona Saturday

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Saturday, Southern Utah men’s basketball hosts Northern Arizona at America First Event Center as the Thunderbirds continue Big Sky Conference play.

The Thunderbirds are currently 6-7 and 1-3 in Big Sky play after downing Weber State 90-82 last Saturday at the Dee Events Center in Ogden.

This was SUU’s first win over the Wildcats in the last six contests and won their first game at the Dee Events Center since 2015.

The Thunderbirds are -10 (1020-1010) in point differential on the season, and score 77.7 points per game while surrendering 78.5 points per contest.

Redshirt junior guard/forward Cameron Oluyitan scores 13.3 points per game and senior guard Brandon Better adds 11.9 points per game for the Thunderbirds.

The Lumberjacks are 4-10 on the season but a respectable 2-2 in Big Sky play as they have downed Montana State and Idaho State, two teams the Thunderbirds have fallen to.

Northern Arizona gives up 79 points per contest, while scoring 71.4 points per game.

Sophomore forward Bernie Andre posts 21 points and 8 rebounds per game to lead the Lumberjacks.
