Stapleton-Johnson Becomes 8th BYU All-American in Track and Field

EUGENE, Ore.-Saturday, as the NCAA Track and Field championships concluded from Hayward Field, BYU women’s high jumper Andrea Stapleton-Johnson became the eighth Cougars athlete to obtain first-team All-American status.

Stapleton-Johnson was the only BYU athlete to compete Saturday and she tied for eighth in the high jump with Nebraska-Omaha’s Stephanie Ahrens. Each athletes posted a leap of 5’10.”

Additionally, Stapleton-Johnson was the only female Cougars’ athlete to earn points, as the eighth place finish netted 0.5 points.

The Cougars placed 67th overall in the team standings.

Additionally, Connor McMillan from the men’s team was named as a second-team All-American by virtue of his 12th place finish in the men’s 10,000-meter final Wednesday.
