Seven UVU Men’s Basketball Players Named To NABC Honors Court

OREM, Utah-Seven Utah Valley University men’s basketball players have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches honor court Tuesday.

The Wolverines are in rarefied air as they are only one of two Division I schools (based on last year’s results, there are 351 schools in Division I) to receive this distinction.

These UVU players include Corey Calvert, Akolda Manyang, a redshirt senior out of Rochester, Minn., redshirt senior Isaac Neilson of Mission Viejo, Calif., senior guard Conner Toolson of Highland, Utah, redshirt junior McKay Johnson of Centerville, Utah, redshirt sophomore guard Daniel Nyman of Highland, Utah and redshirt junior guard Jake Toolson of Gilbert, Ariz.

These seven honorees for the Wolverines give them the most among Western Athletic Conference programs as well as in the state of Utah.

Other Division I schools with NABC honorees in Utah include Brigham Young with two and Utah and Southern Utah with one apiece. For the Thunderbirds, this was junior guard Matthew Johnson of Las Vegas.

In his three seasons at the helm at UVU, head coach Mark Pope has seen his players earn NABC honors court designation 13 times.
