Robert Torgerson Signed By the Jacksonville Jaguars

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-Per numerous reports, including the confirmation of his agent, Evan Brennan, former Richfield High and Southern Utah football star, defensive lineman Robert Torgerson, has found a home in the NFL Monday.

Brennan confirmed that Torgerson has been signed to an undrafted rookie free agent deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars and will attend mini-camp for the AFC runners-up in 2017, June 12-14. This report was also verified by Brian McLaughlin of HERO Sports, which specializes in FCS reporting and scouting, and First Coast News Jaguars beat writer Mike Kaye.

Torgerson, despite not participating at the NFL Scouting combine, excelled at the Thunderbirds’ Pro Day on March 27 at Desert Hills High School in St. George.

This workout saw Torgerson put up comparable numbers to many defensive linemen who participated at the combine.

In any event, Torgerson will have a chance to compete for a spot on one of the strongest, if not the strongest defensive lines in the NFL as Jacksonville features stars such as defensive ends Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue.

HERO Sports confirms in 2018, Torgerson amassed 15 tackles (8 assists and 7 solo tackles) and 1 sack on the 2017 season for the 9-3 Thunderbirds.
