3-A Playoffs
MANTI, Utah-Gage Decker and Matt Carr each scored as the Maeser Lions doubled up Manti 2-1 Thursday in the first round of the 3-A state playoffs. Christian Gordon scored in defeat for the Templars. Maeser next faces Judge Saturday at 1:00 pm in the 3-A state quarterfinals.
PRICE, Utah-Giovanni Pavoni amassed a hat trick and the Carbon Dinos blanked Richfield 6-0 in the first round of the 3-A state playoffs Thursday. Jack Jeppson posted the shutout for Carbon. The Dinos next face Morgan Saturday at 1:00 pm in the 3-A state quarterfinals.
DELTA, Utah-Brayden Gonder posted a hat trick and the Delta Rabbits blanked South Sevier 8-0 Thursday in the first round of the 3-A state playoffs. Jayce Allen, Sam Clark, Tanner Gonder, Tate Smith, and Trevor Burton also scored in the rout for the Rabbits. Tristan Anderson secured the shutout for Delta. The Rabbits next host South Summit Saturday at 1:00 pm in the 3-A state quarterfinals.
MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Cole Georgi and Thomas Kirkham each scored as the South Summit Wildcats doubled up North Sanpete 2-1 in the first round of the 3-A state playoffs Thursday. Louis Rodriguez scored in the loss for the Hawks.
Softball
Region 14
PRICE, Utah-Taelyn Ballow took the win in the circle and the Juab Wasps gashed Carbon 7-2 in Region 14 softball action Thursday. The Wasps secured the Region 14 title with the victory.
Non-Region
TAYLORSVILLE, Utah-Mackenzie Richins went yard and doubled as the Class 6-A Taylorsville Warriors downed Manti 9-3 in non-region softball action Thursdsay.
ENTERPRISE, Utah-Allie Laub belted a pair of home runs and earned the win in the circle as the Enterprise Wolves pounded South Sevier 13-3 Thursday in non-region softball action.
Baseball
2-A North
GUNNISON, Utah-Chance Helms homered, while Bowen Jensen doubled and earned a no-hitter on the mound as the Gunnison Bulldogs pulverized Layton Christian 28-0 in the first game of a 2-A North baseball doubleheader Thursday. Hyrum Leatherwood tripled and Stockton Hansen doubled twice for Gunnison, while Parker Stewart also doubled in the rout for the Bulldogs.
GUNNISON, Utah-Ty Hill went yard and the Gunnison Bulldogs completed a decisive 2-A North baseball doubleheader sweep of Layton Christian with a 19-1 victory Thursday. Stockton Hansen tripled and doubled and Braxton Sylvester added a double for the Bulldogs in the win.
