MONROE, Utah-Brodee Tebbs posted 25 points on 9-12 shooting, including 6-9 behind the arc as the South Sevier Rams blasted Grand 70-56 Friday in Region 15 boys basketball action. This was a de facto #1 seed for the state tournament game as both the Rams and Red Devils were 15-3 coming into this game and even with two in the loss column in region games.
The Rams came out prepared, playing arguably their most complete game of the season in symmetrically shooting 50 percent both from the field and beyond the 3-point line.
As is customary, the Rams saved their best showing for the 3rd Quarter, exploding for a 24-13 surge to take a commading 57-40 lead headed into the 4th Quarter.
Caleb Barton added 16 points on 6-12 shooting from the field for South Sevier. In defeat, Alec Williams and Nolan Ramirez had 13 points apiece for the Red Devils.
PAROWAN, Utah-Porter Wood netted 13 points and 12 rebounds as the Parowan Rams gashed Gunnison 42-28 in Region 18 boys basketball action Friday. Tim Stewart led the Bulldogs in defeat with 9 points.
LINDON, Utah-Derek Smith posted 27 points and the Delta Rabbits bested Maeser Prep 75-63 Friday in Region 14 boys basketball action. Grant Garner’s 18 points led the Lions in the loss.
NEPHI, Utah-Boston Douglas’ 20 points led the way as the Providence Hall Patriots got past Juab 59-48 in Region 14 boys basketball action Friday. Max Gurney had 12 points in defeat for the Wasps.
CASTLE DALE, Utah-Matt Nelson amassed 31 points, including six 3-pointers as the Manti Templars downed Emery 76-71 Friday in Region 15 boys basketball action. Kyson Stilson had 24 points for the Spartans in the loss.
KANAB, Utah-Jaxon Wardle stepped up with 28 points as the Millard Eagles edged Kanab 60-59 in Region 18 boys basketball action Friday. Nathaniel Houston led the way in the loss for the Cowboys with 15 points.
BEAVER, Utah-Davis Heslington netted 24 points while the Beaver Beavers downed North Sevier 41-37 Friday in Region 18 boys basketball action.
HILDALE, Utah-Acey Orton netted 23 points as the Panguitch Bobcats smacked Water Canyon 78-27 in Region 20 boys basketball action Friday. Ted Barlow had 8 points in defeat for the Wildcats.
MOAB, Utah-Kenie Jones had 16 points as the South Sevier Rams routed Grand 56-33 Friday in Region 15 girls basketball action. Veda Gritts led the Red Devils in the loss with 16 points.
BLANDING, Utah-Emma Jones keyed a balanced scoring attack with 15 points while the Richfield Wildcats pounded San Juan 61-35 in Regino 15 girls basketball action Friday. Delaney Palmer had 14 points in the loss to pace the Broncos.
