MANTI, Utah-Joshua Thalman netted 21 points, going 6 of 6 from the field and 7 of 7 at the foul line as the Richfield Wildcats broke Manti’s 9-game winning streak with a 77-68 win over the Templars Wednesday in Region 15 boys basketball action. Emmitt Hafen added 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting for the Wildcats, who shot 57.8 percent from the field and 90 percent at the foul line on the evening. Adam Huff had 19 points on 5 of 9 shooting and 7 of 7 at the foul line for the Templars and Grady Thompson added 18 points, nine rebounds and six assists in defeat for Manti. This was Richfield’s fifth straight win as they improved to 6-4 on the season and 1-0 in Region 15 play.
Non-Region
FILLMORE, Utah-Derek Smith’s 22 points led the way as the Delta Rabbits overpowered Millard 64-49 in non-region boys basketball action Wednesday. Hayes Monroe led the Eagles in the loss with 21 points.
Girls Basketball
Region 15
RICHFIELD, Utah-Alexa Lord’s 22 points led the Richfield Wildcats in a 67-37 rout of Manti Wednesday in Region 15 girls basketball action. Jarica Steck added 17 points in the win for Richfield. Katie Larsen had 15 points in the loss to pace the Templars.
CASTLE DALE, Utah-Kenzie Jones netted 13 points but it wasn’t enough as the Emery Spartans smacked South Sevier 65-41 in Region 15 girls basketball Wednesday.
