Parkinson-Hasler Named As BYU Women’s Tennis Coach

PROVO, Utah-Wednesday, BYU director of athletics Tom Holmoe named Holly Parkinson Hasler as the new head coach for the women’s tennis program.

Parkinson Hasler first came to Provo in 1997 from Houston when she was the #1 ranked recruit in the country.

Her freshman season of 1997-98 saw her lead the Cougars to a WAC championship and an eighth-place finish in the final ITA national rankings.

That season saw Parkinson Hasler post a record of 11-2 in singles play, making her the #1 singles player in the ITA Central Region and #14 nationally.

She was also named as the WAC freshman of the year and an ITA All-American. After her freshman year of eligibility, she went professional.

While playing on the International Tennis Federation Pro Circuit from 1997-2002, she earned six ITF singles titles before advancing to compete in the main draw of the Women’s Tennis Association Tour events.

Following her pro playing career, Parkinson Hasler returned to BYU as an assistant women’s tennis coach from 2002-2008.

From 2009-2016, she had been a tennis instructor at Salt Lake Tennis and Health Club and she is a February 2017 inductee into the Utah Tennis Hall of Fame.
