LaMont’s Junior World Championship Run Draws To A Close

TRNAVA, Slovakia-Tuesday, Utah Valley University sophomore wrestler Taylor LaMont saw his run to a 2018 UWW Junior World Greco-Roman Championship run come to an end at Trnava, Slovakia.

LaMont, a native of Mapleton, Utah and former Maple Mountain star, earned a 5-1 win over Kazakhstan’s Galym Kabdunassarov in his opening match.

LaMont then fell out of the winner’s bracket as Armenian national Ararat Manucharyan bested him.

For LaMont to enter into repechage, he needed Manucharyan to win his next match, but he fell 5-3 to eventual champion Kerem Kamal of Turkey, ending LaMont’s run at the meet.
