Juab’s Boys, North Summit’s Girls, Win At North Summit Tuesday

COALVILLE, Utah-Tuesday, North Summit High School hosted the North Summit Invitational, which saw Juab and North Sevier competing, repping the Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network.

The Juab boys won the title decisively, posting 204 points to easily outdistance second-place North Summit, as the Braves had 123 points. North Sevier’s boys placed sixth with 37 points.

For the girls, North Summit took the crown with 222 points as Juab placed second with 153.5 points and North Sevier was third with 66 points.

Juab’s Natalie Tolbert took the crown in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles (17.02 seconds), with teammate Krista Nielson winning the 300-meter hurdles 49.72 seconds).

Ronnie Walker won the girls’ 100-meter dash for Juab in a time of 12.82 seconds and the Wasps’ Bryton Matheson won the boys’ 300-meter hurdles in a time of 44.78 seconds.

Juab’s girls won the medley relay in a time of 4:46.17 as the team consisted of LorraLynn Bronson, Krista Nielson, Willow Kay and Emilia Anderson.

North Sevier’s Kelby Bosh had a strong showing as he placed second in the boys’ 3200-meter run in a time of 12:20.55. Kenzie Mason of North Sevier was again strong as well, placing first in the girls’ discus with a toss of 99-08 feet.

Mason also obtained the javelin and shot put titles with tosses of 103-10 feet and 33-06.50 feet, respectively.

Rhiannon West of Juab won the girls’ high jump title with a leap of 5 feet 2 inches with her teammate, Willow Kay, winning the long jump crown with a jump of 16-05.50 feet.

Juab’s boys swept the throwing championships with Reese Darrington winning the shot put crown (43-03.25 feet), Ty Durbin taking the discus title (123-06 feet) and Jackson Rowley (158-04 feet) winning the javelin crown.
