Juab Wins Its Third Straight Wrestling Title Saturday

OREM, Utah-Saturday, the Juab Wasps clinched their third consecutive 3-A state wrestling championship with some dynamic performances on the mat at the final day of competition at Utah Valley University.

The Wasps netted 217 points while Delta was second with 187.5 points. South Sevier placed sixth with 131.5 points, Richfield was eighth with 98 points, Manti was 13th with 56.5 points and North Sanpete finished 14th with 54 points.

Winning the 3-A title at 120 pounds was Juab’s Channing Warner, prevailing 5-3 over Morgan’s Jarett Jorgensen.

At 145 pounds, Juab’s Cade Bowring is the state champion in 3-A, downing Conner Fausett of Carbon 6-5.

Also, at 220 pounds, Juab’s Shan Jackson took the state title 10-6 over Noah Bullethead of Union.

Other Wasps to place included Keaton Sperry placing sixth at 106 pounds, Conner Ingram finishing second at 126 pounds, Kalob Nybo finishing fifth at 138 pounds, Tyler Lynn finishing fourth at 152 pounds, Wyatt Harmon placing fourth at 160 pounds, Charles Watts placing second at 182 pounds and Blake Mangelson finishing second at 195 pounds.

Denim Torgerson of Richfield took the state title at 113 pounds, with Trety Butler finishing fourth in that class for Delta.

At 120 pounds, Delta’s Maverick Caldwell finished fourth and Leo Valdez was sixth.

At 126 pounds, Richfield’s Dakota Curtis placed fifth and Jayden Peterson of Delta was sixth.

At 132 pounds, Delta’s Cael Rowley finished third and Ryker Ogden of Richfield was fifth.

The 138-pound state champion is South Sevier’s Tristan Fillmore and Austin Chase of Delta placed fifth at 145 pounds while Jett High of South Sevier placed sixth at 145 pounds.

Dylin Broughton of Delta is the state champion at 152 pounds with Cannon Fullenbach of South Sevier placing second.

At 160 pounds, Manti’s Damon Mayfield finished second with Kade Jensen of Richfield placing fifth.

At 170 pounds, Dillon Sorenson of Richfield placed third, Taylor Hunt of South Sevier was fourth and North Sanpete’s Luis Rodriguez placed fifth.

Jake Jackson of Delta is the 182-pound champion with Wyatt Morrison of South Sevier placing fourth.

Bowen Shields of Delta won the 195-pound championship and Seni Lino Latu of Manti was fourth.

Chris Good of South Sevier was sixth at 220 pounds and Dalton Anderson of North Sanpete was 2nd at 285 pounds and Kemmer Jones of South Sevier placed fifth.
