Jones-Perry Named As WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif.-Monday, Brigham Young University women’s volleyball star Roni Jones-Perry, a senior out of West Jordan, Utah and Copper Hills High School, was named as the West Coast Conference player of the week.

Jones-Perry played an integral role in the Cougars’ victories over #1 Stanford, Wichita State and West Virginia as part of the BYU Nike Invitational.

Against the Mountaineers, she led all players with 13 kills and hit at a .417 clip with six digs.

In the upset of the top-ranked Cardinal, she amassed a season-high 20 kills and 10 digs for a double-double to go along with five blocks and two aces.

Against the Shockers, Jones-Perry’s match-high 16 kills came along with a career-high .682 hitting percentage, while she added eight digs for good measure.

On the week, Jones-Perry averaged 4.45 kills per set, 5.36 points per set and 2.18 digs per set, while amassing a collective .444 clip.

By virtue of her heroics, Jones-Perry was named to the all-tournament team and the Most Valuable Player of the Invitational.
