Dixie State’s Remington Kelly Named To RMAC Football All-Academic Team

ST. GEORGE-Per a Wednesday announcement, Dixie State football senior defensive lineman Remington Kelly made the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s all-academic team for the second consecutive year.

Eight other Trailblazers were named to the football honor roll.

Kelly is the Trailblazers’ best defensive lineman in terms of tackles (26, seven for a loss). He also has amassed six quarterback hurries, five sacks and two pass breakups.

He also has recorded a forced fumble and a pair of blocked kicks.

Kelly, a graduate of Bountiful High School, graduated last spring with a 3.612 GPA in business administration. He is currently working on a second bachelor’s degree in communication studies.

Other Dixie State student-athletes to make the honor roll included redshirt sophomore tight end Hunter Christensen of West Jordan, Utah (West Jordan H.S.), senior receiver Brad Duran of Corona, Calif., redshirt  freshman receiver Blake Ence of St. George (Pine View H.S.), junior defensive lineman Beda Galleta of San Diego, junior tailback Sei-J Lauago of Paramount, Calif., redshirt freshman defensive lineman Gage Manzione of Stansbury Park, Utah, senior quarterback Michael Sanders of Phoenix and sophomore kicker A.J. Yergensen of St. George (Desert Hills H.S.)
