Dixie State’s Hannah Hansen Earns CSCAA Scholar All-American Honors

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Thursday, Dixie State sophomore swimmer Hannah Hansen was named as the first Trailblazers swimmer in school history to earn Scholar All-American honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.

Hansen is one of a record 1,069 swimmers and divers throughout the country to collect this national award.

Hansen, a product of Lehi High School became the first Trailblazer in program history to qualify for the NCAA Division II women’s swimming/diving championships this past March.

The sophomore competed in both the 100-yard breaststroke and 200 breaststroke at the national meet, which saw her place 30th and 21st respectively.

Hansen qualified for the national championship meet after posting a Dixie State-school record 2:17.46 in the 200 breast at the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference championships last February.

Hansen’s school record in this event was one of four total school individual records she broke, with the others coming in the 100 fly, 100 breast and 200 individual medley.

Dixie State’s second season of competition in this sport saw the Trailblazers finish ninth at the 2018 Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive conference championships. This also saw a combined 27 new school records.
