Dixie State Women’s Soccer Picked Fifth in RMAC

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Wednesday afternoon, Dixie State women’s soccer was picked to finish fifth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference per the RMAC coaches’ poll.

The Trailblazers, who are new members of the RMAC after being in the Pac-West Conference, return five starters and 11 letter-winners from last season’s 12-6 team.

Dixie State will be led by sophomore forward Tori Page out of Centerville, Utah and Viewmont High School. She is the Trailblazers’ leading scorer from last season, having netted eight goals and two assists in her true freshman season.

Defensively, senior Nichole Mertz of Springville, Utah and Springville High School and junior Kilee Lamb-Allsop of Smithfield, Utah and Sky View High School were key components in the Trailblazers surrendering only 19 goals in 18 matches last season.

Junior goalkeeper Felicity Tarr of Marana, Ariz.’s Mountain View High School (northwest Tucson) returns as a durable component of the squad.

In 2017, she started all 18 of the Trailblazers’ matches and played 1,509 of a possible 1,644 minutes in goal, posting an 11-6 record overall for Dixie State.

The prohibitive favorite to win the RMAC, per Wednesday’s poll is the Colorado-Colorado Springs Mountain Lions, who garnered 11 out of a possible 14 first-place votes.
