Dixie State Men’s Basketball Hosts New Mexico Highland-CSU Pueblo This Weekend

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Dixie State men’s basketball, currently at 3-3 and 1-2 in conference play, returns to Burns Arena this weekend as they host New Mexico Highlands Friday and Colorado State-Pueblo Saturday as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season continues for the Trailblazers.

Under head coach Jon Judkins, the Trailblazers have gone 114-24 (.826) at home since advancing to NCAA Division II in the 2006-07 season.

Last season, the Trailblazers were 9-1 at Burns Arena.

The Trailblazers will be meeting the Cowboys, out of Las Vegas, N.M., for the first time in history on the hardwood Friday.

New Mexico Highlands comes into this one at 7-1 and 3-0 in conference play.

The high-scoring Cowboys amass 92.3 points per game and give up only 79.8 points per contest.

Senior guard Gerad Davis posts 21.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game for New Mexico Highlands, who comes into St. George on a 7-game winning streak.

The Trailblazers enter Friday’s tilt, giving up 72.3 points per game and averaging 71.3 points per contest.

Junior forward Matt Conway remains Dixie State’s star thus far, posting 16.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest.

The Trailblazers’ game against the Thunderwolves Saturday will be the third all-time between the schools. The schools are tied 1-1 all-time.

CSU Pueblo is currently 2-7 on the season and 0-3 in RMAC play. The Thunderwolves give up 85 points per game and score 74.8 points per contest themselves.

Redshirt junior guard/forward Donovan Oldham scores 16.7 points and averages 4.9 rebounds per game for the Thunderwolves.
