Dixie State Baseball Hosts Colorado-Colorado Springs For Four Games

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Saturday, Dixie State baseball (14-4, 4-0 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play) commences a four-game series against Colorado-Colorado Springs at Bruce Hurst Field.

The #29 (in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper)/ #22 (in the NCBWA poll) Trailblazers will be meeting the Mountain Lions for the first time in program history.

Dixie State is coming off a series against Adams State at Alamosa, Colo., that saw them win all four games and outscore the Grizzlies, 68-28, including a 28-9 rout Sunday.

This weekend commemorates the Trailblazers’ first conference home-stand of the season.

Since making the move to NCAA Division II in 2006-07, the Trailblazers are 249-95 (.724) at Bruce Hurst Field.

Saturday, the Trailblazers will go with senior ace Jayden Murray (4-1). In Sunday’s first game, Dixie State rides with left-handed pitcher Jack Gonzales. In Sunday’s second game, the Trailblazers have made no decision, but Monday, Dixie State will go with right-hander Preston Hannay.

The Mountain Lions come into this series, also at 4-0 in RMAC play and 12-6 overall.
