Cori Smith Named As Director of Women’s Basketball Operations at Utah State

LOGAN, Utah-Thursday, Utah State women’s basketball head coach Jerry Finkbeiner confirmed the addition of Cori Smith to his staff as the new director of basketball operations.

Smith joins the Aggies after spending the 2017-18 season as a graduate assistant at Division II Seattle Pacific. While with the Falcons, she coordinated team travel and practices and helped advertise the team’s promotional games.

With Smith on staff, the Falcons went 23-8 and earned an at-large berth to the Division II NCAA Tournament, falling in the first round to the UC San Diego Tritons.

Prior to her time at Seattle Pacific, Smith was a high school basketball coach, coaching at both Ballard High School of Seattle and Edmonds-Woodway High School of Edmonds, Wash., while also working full-time in the mental health field.

Smith is a 2008 graduate of the University of Arizona and completed her first Master’s degree in counseling psychology at the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in 2014 as well as a second Master’s in intercollegiate athletic leadership at Washington in 2018.
