BYU Softball Star Named As Female Athlete of the Year By MS Society

SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday evening at Rice-Eccles Stadium, Brigham Young University softball star Libby Sugg was awarded the Female College Athlete of the Year from the MS Society at the Dinner of Champions hosted by Rice-Eccles Stadium.

This is the National MS Society’s premier gala event, honoring those who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those with MS.

Sugg, a senior out of Franklin, Tenn., is coming off a season which saw her lead the Cougars in batting average (.414), RBI (67), hits (65), doubles (13), home runs (11), slugging percentage (.707) and on-base percentage (.500).

Sugg, a three-time recipient of the West Coast Conference Player of the Week award, started all 58 games in her junior season for the Cougars, leading them to the first round of the NCAA Tournament before losing to Drake at Eugene, Ore.
