BYU Men’s Basketball Travels To San Diego State Saturday

SAN DIEGO-Saturday, BYU men’s basketball plays an old-school conference rival as they meet the San Diego State Aztecs at Viejas Arena for a 5:00 pm MST tip-off.

This game is not a Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network broadcast but will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network.

The Cougars come into this one at 8-5 as they dropped a thrilling 92-90 game at UNLV last Saturday at T-Mobile Arena of Las Vegas.

BYU’s star junior forward Yoeli Childs continues to be a force as he averages 22.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. Both distinctions rank him first in the West Coast Conference in each respective category.

The prolific Cougars average 85.1 points per game and surrender 76.1 points per game on the defensive end.

The Aztecs come into this game at 6-4 and score 78.4 points per game, while giving up 69.2 points per game defensively.

San Diego State’s leading scorer is senior guard Devin Watson, who averages 15.8 points per game. He is complemented by redshirt sophomore forward Jalen McDaniels, who posts 14.7 points and 7.6 boards per contest.

The Cougars are meeting the Aztecs for the first time since 2014 and lead San Diego State 48-24 all-time.

The Cougars and Aztecs were conference rivals in both the WAC and Mountain West from 1979-2011.
