BYU Men’s Basketball Hosts San Francisco Thursday

PROVO, Utah-Thursday, BYU men’s basketball (18-10, 10-3 in West Coast Conference play) seeks to stay ahead of San Francisco (20-6, 8-4 inWCC play) in the conference standings as they host the Dons at the Marriott Center.

The Cougars are the winners of five straight games and score 80.1 points per game while surrendering 75.1 points per contest.

Junior forward Yoeli Childs (21.1 points, 9.6 rebounds per game) and junior guard TJ Haws (17.5 points per game) continue to lead the Cougars.

Haws is the reigning WCC player of the week as he amassed 24 points, 7.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game in wins over San Diego and Loyola Marymount.

The Cougars’ current five-game winning streak is their second on the season. This is the first time the Cougars have had two five-game winning streaks in a season since 2013-14.

The Dons consistently dominate their opponents, as they score 76.3 points per game and surrender only 65.7 points per contest.

Redshirt sophomore guard Charles Minlend (14.9 points, 4.8 rebounds per game) continues to lead the Dons. Senior guard Frankie Ferrari (14.3 points per game) has also been solid for San Francisco.

The Cougars lead the Dons 19-7 all-time and are 9-1 at home in the series.
