BYU Men’s Basketball Faces Saint Mary’s Saturday

MORAGA, Calif.-Following a thrilling 90-87 win over Pacific Thursday, BYU men’s basketball plays at Saint Mary’s Saturday as they ensue in West Coast Conference play and conclude a five-game road trip.

The 9-7 Cougars are now 1-0 in WCC play and face a Gaels squad that is also 9-7 but 0-1 in league play as they fell 76-72 to San Francisco Thursday.

In Thursday’s win, Cougars junior guard TJ Haws netted 24 points and six assists and junior guard Jahshire Hardnett posted 17 points, including 14 in the second half, while netting 14 of those points in the 2nd half.

The Cougars continue to be led on the season by junior forward Yoeli Childs who averages 21.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

BYU scores 84.9 points per game and surrenders 79.3 points per contest.

The Gaels come into Saturday’s tilt averaging 77 points per game and surrendering 66.6 points per contest.

Junior guard Jordan Ford averages 22.8 points per game for the Gaels, while redshirt sophomore forward Malik Fitts amasses 14.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per contest in a complementary role for Saint Mary’s.
